Note: In case, you are unsure of the administrative password of your Cisco router, or if this is your first time logging in to your Cisco router, then, you need to leave the Username field of the Cisco router administration panel blank and enter the word “password” without quotation marks in the Password field of the Cisco router administration panel to proceed further.

Now, you need to go to the main menu of the Cisco router administration panel. Next, tap on the Setup option from the main menu of the Cisco router administration panel to proceed further. After that, you need to tap on the Quick Setup option under the Setup option of the Cisco router administration panel.

Now, you need to go to the Password box and you need to enter the new administrative password in the Password field of the Cisco router. After that, enter the password again in the re-enter to confirm field. This process will confirm the new password of your Cisco router.

You need to create a strong password to keep the network of your router safe. Try to create a strong and hard password that becomes very difficult to guess for the outsiders. Moreover, the password of your router should include alphabets, numbers, and special characters. As an example “!”, “$” and “#” and many more. In case, you do not recognize the Quick Setup tab option under the Setup section of the Cisco router model. Then, you need to choose Wireless instead on the main menu of the Cisco router administration panel. After that, you need to tap on the Wireless Security tab option to proceed further. In this tab option, you will get a field which is titled as Passphrase. Enter your new Wi-Fi password of the Cisco router model to access the internet in this Passphrase field.     

Step 7:

Once all the above steps are complete, you need to tap on the Save Settings option to complete setting your new passwords for the Cisco router model. Once you have saved the changes that you have made, you may get disconnected. In such a case, you need to employ the new password that you have saved to reconnect to the network of the router. In case, you still notice the configuration page of the Wi-Fi modem, you need to choose the Log OFF option from the menu. You may get this Log OFF option at the top of the configuration page.

Note: In case, you are attached with the help of an Ethernet cable, you need to separate it from your modem and from your device. So that you can test your Wi-Fi network connectivity of the Cisco router. This process can help you to avert intermittent internet connection issue of the router while you are accessing the router.
