Computer says no boot device found [SOLVED]

Solution 1- Run the Automatic Repair

In order to run the Automatic repair, first, insert the Windows 10 DVD/ USB and reboot the Windows OS.

Once the system successfully boots up, then, a Windows setup page will appear on the screen.  

Click on the Next option to continue. In the next window, left-click on the Repair your computer option. Thereafter, select the Troubleshoot option. From there, move to the Advanced section.

Furthermore, click on the Automatic Repair option. Now, choose the Windows 10 OS that you wish to repair and allow the automatic process to run. 

After completion, reboot your system and check if the error has been resolved or not.

Solution 2- Run the Troubleshooter

Millions of users claimed that after running the troubleshooter the error message does not appear on the screen. This is quite a simple solution and to apply it,

  1. Type ‘troubleshooter’ within the Search box and choose Troubleshooting from the available options.
  2. Next, choose Windows Update from the list and after that tap on the Run the Troubleshooter button.

 1st- sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c: /offwindir=c:windows

 2nd- chkdsk c: /r

 1st- Dism /Image:C:offline /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:c:testmountwindows

 2nd- Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:c:testmountwindows /LimitAccess

Now, the commands will detect and fix the damaged system files. After that, exit from the device and if you are still dealing with the problem then proceed to the next solution.

Solution 4- Set the Hard Drive as the First Boot Device

Occasionally, by going to the Boot section in the BIOS you can easily fix the problem. In the Boot section, drop down and locate the First Boot Device settings. Thereafter, set it to the hard drive.

This must fix the problem hassle-freely. Apart from that, lots of users also suggest disabling the Turn off Secure Boot Feature. Let’s try this one also. 

Once done, then check if the error message still pops up on the display or not.

1st- bootrec.exc/FixMbr

2nd- bootrec.exc/ FixBoot

3rd- bootrec.exc/ RebuidBCD

In case the above commands do not work, then use the following commands.

  1. bcdedit /export C:BCD_Backup
  2. C:
  3. Cd boot
  4. Attrib bcd -s-h-r
  5. ren c:bootbcd bcd.old
  6. bootrec /RebuildBcd

Wait for the completion of the process, reboot your device and if you are still unable to fix the problem, then try the next solution.

Solution 6- Check for the Loose Cables

In case the components are not connected appropriately, then you might receive this error message. To solve it, first, turn off your computer, disconnect it from the power outlet. 

Then, open the computer case. Now, check all the SATA cables and ensure that they are connected tightly to the motherboard. 

Solution 7- Ensure that you are using UEFI

Sometimes after switching from BIOS to UEFI, the issue can be resolved. To do so, first, type into BIOS and change a single setting. 

As there are different versions of BIOS,  therefore, you are strongly advised to check the motherboard manual and see how to manually switch to the UEFI.

After completion, the issue might be resolved and windows will again start normally.
