Fix 1: Ensure that Nothing is Plugged In

Before applying any steps, you need to make sure that when you power on the computer, the minimum number of devices are plugged in it.

In case, if you found that CDs, DVDs, USB memory card are plugged in with your device, then disconnect them. Sometimes, simply by doing this, you can eliminate the error code.

Fix 2: Rebuild the Boot Configuration Data

To apply these steps, you should boot your device from the recovery drive. After that, rebuild the BCD to resolve the problem.

  2. After that, click on the Repair your Computer from the lower-left corner of your device and then click on the Troubleshoot option under the Choose an Option screen.
  3. Thereafter, click on the Advanced options under the Troubleshoot screen. Then choose the Command Prompt window.
  4. Now, enter the following commands in the command window and hit the Enter button each time.
  • First command: bootrec /scanos
  • Second command: bootrec /fixmbr
  • Third command: bootrec /fixboot
  • Forth command: bootrec /rebuildbcd

Once you are done, restart the system. Most of the time, after performing these steps, you will no longer get the error code.

Fix 3: Repair the OS with the Recovery Drive

If you still get the 0XC000000E Windows 10, then you need to repair the operating system with the help of the command prompt of the recovery drive. Hence, boot your device from the recovery drive and apply the steps mentioned in the section below.

Again launch the Command Prompt window of the recovery drive. Simply follow step 1 to step 3 to launch the Command Prompt window.

Now, copy the following commands in the command window and hit the Enter button each time.

  • CD x:\sources\recovery
  • StartRep.exe

If the commands are not able to repair the Windows, then type “Bcdedit” and check the values for the Windows Boot Manager.

After that, note the values for the Device. If you do not find the values, then follow the commands mentioned in the later section.

  • First command: bcdedit /set {DEFAULT.EN_US} device partition=c:
  • Second command: bcdedit /set {DEFAULT.EN_US} osdevice partition=c:
  • Third command: bcdedit /set {BOOTMGR.EN_US} device partition=c:

Hit the Enter button each time when you enter any command.

Once you are done, exit from the Command Prompt window and remove the recovery driver from your device. After that, reboot the system and check whether the problem gets resolved or not.

Fix 4: Disable Fast Startup Features

In case, if the above methods are not helpful to resolve the problem, then you need to turn off the fast startup features and check whether the problem gets resolved or not.

  • At first, click on the Start button and then move to the Control Panel section. Thereafter, move to the Power options.
  • After that, click on the “Choose what power button does” section and then select the “Change settings that are currently unavailable link” option.
  • Now, search for the “Turn on fast startup (recommended)”  under the Shutdown settings and uncheck the box corresponding to it.
