Check the Company File Name Extension 

Here are some steps that you need to follow to justify the company file name extension. 

  1. At first, right-click on the company file and select the Properties option. 
  2. Then, click on the QuickBooks tab. 
  3. Go to the file Filename field and note the file extension.  Also, note the QuickBooks version in the last opened file. 
  4. Now, you need to click the OK button. 

Adjust The Extension 

For changing the extension you need to follow the steps properly.

  1.  At first, create a new folder. Then, copy the Company file and paste that into the new folder. 
  2. Now, right-click on the new folder and rename it. After that, change the file to .qbm.
  3. Open the QuickBooks Desk to restore the Portable. Thereafter, rename the extension to .qbb. 
  4. After that, open the QB desktop and restore the Backup.
  5.  If you find difficulties to open the file, then rename the extension to .qbx. Finally, open QB Convert to an Accounting copy. 

Copy the Company File to Flash Drive 

In flash drive copy the company file and then paste it to another folder. For that, follow the below-mentioned steps properly. 

  1. Ope the Windows Explorer with the help of the opening QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. After that, right-click on the File option and select the New Folder. 
  3. Thereafter, go to the Flash Drive and copy the Company File.QBW. Then, paste that in a new folder.
