1. Press and hold Win+R to launch the Run dialog box.
2. Fill in with “Control Panel” and then press Enter.
3. Now, stay in the User Accounts tab. Then proceed to Manage Another Account tab.
4. Choose the ‘Create new account’ tab. Next, enter the name of the new user account.
5. Hit the administrator option with a click and then opt for ‘Create Account’.

And here you go with a new username and user account. Now, try to login to Quickbooks after signing in to the new user account in Windows.

For Windows 8.1

The mechanism of creating a new user account in Windows 8.1 differs from Windows 8. If you have Windows 8.1 as the operating system on your computer, then you should opt for this method.

1. Press and hold Win+R to launch the Run dialog box. 
2. Type down “Control Panel” and click on the Ok button.
3. Then navigate to the following path of options: User Accounts> Manage Another Account> Other Accounts> Add an Account.
4. Then choose ‘Sign in without a Microsoft account(Not advised)’. Next, select the Local Account tab.
5. Fill in all the needed credentials to create an account. Next, go to the Next option.
6. This will take you back to the Manage Other Accounts window. Opt for the Edit option.
7. Choose the Administrator option from the drop-down menu. Then choose the OK option.

Now, you can sign in to your Windows 8.1 and launch QuickBooks. Check if the errors persist.

For Windows 10

If you are a Windows 10 user, then you can make a new user account to log in to Quickbooks and resolve the error.

1. Click on the Start menu. Then follow the path: Settings>Accounts> Family and other users.
2. Opt for ‘Add someone else to this computer’ under the Others Users tab.
3. Select ‘I do not have this person’s sign-in info’ and ‘Add a user without Microsoft account’, consecutively.

5. Click on the new account and opt for the account Type tab.
